Wow.. it’s almost 3.5 months now since my last blog. I do have a lot to write but I’m not gonna, just some highlights. Hmmm.. let’s see; there was Kyle and Courtney’s wedding (August 19, 2006). We had a blast at their wedding, it was a very beautiful wedding. Christine is officially a teacher! She teaches grade 1 at Cardinal Newman School. She loves teaching and she loves her class. She is very very very busy; everybody says “the first year is the toughest year” and we agree. For some reason I can’t remember anything else, I am certain a lot had happened since.

Last week was crazy busy. I had a big project at work; VI3 Upgrade. We had to upgrade our current VM environment from ESX 2.5.3 to the new ESX 3.0.1. We had about a week to upgrade and migrate approx. 80 VMs. There were some challenges but we got through it. We had a Dell System Engineer who was here to help us with the migration as part of their Professional Service. We (Wendy – my co-worker, Bill – Dell System Engineer, and I) spent at least 14-16 hours everyday for about 6 days. At the end, the project was a success. Given the time line that we had, we were able to overcome the challenges and we pulled through as a team. Of course we had help from other groups within IT; the storage group, networking group, client managers, etc. If you are reading this, I want to thank you for all of your help and support! We have a very good team here in UCIT, supporting each other’s needs and always being there for one another. Also a big thank you to Bill for helping us with the big migration/upgrade and his family for letting us borrow Bill for the 10 days he was in Calgary. I also want to thank my lovely wife Christine for always supporting and being there for me during that stressful week. Luckily, Christine was also busy last week. We didn’t really see too much of each other, but we were also occupied with our work. Now, I’m not trying to convert anybody, but my faith in God also helped me throughout the busy week. Thank you Lord.

Anyways, I just wanted to let that out. I was going to write details about the VI3 upgrade, but I’ll save that for another blog. Oh ya, I also joined an indoor soccer league, we play every Tuesdays and our team is called the Pink Panthers.

Something to say?
